Cooking with Cheese
Cheese Patterns, Tips, and Tricks
- When cooking foods with added cheese, you should keep the temperature at medium so the cheese has time to melt before the rest of the food is done cooking (especially with grilled cheeses and omelets)
- If you added cheese to a dish but it doesn’t taste cheesy enough, you need to add a sharper cheese, like sharp cheddar or parmesan. Sharp cheese means it has a stronger flavor and the taste will cut through. (Especially mac and cheese and pasta)
- When mozzarella melts it becomes stretchy. You can see this with pizzas. However, if you cook it too long, or if you add oil, it becomes a bit rubbery and hard to chew through. It turns gummy.
